A good friend and neighbor of mine is converting back from snowboarding to skiing this year. Asked me to find him a set of sticks for no more than $200 to start the season. I found him the pair on the left on local CL.

He showed up today with another set of the same brand. He wanted something a bit fatter after a powder day and got them for <$200 of the Bay with a fresh, very nice tune.

Not a bad $400 quiver.

I'll say one thing about Kastle owners -- they keep their skis in great shape.

To be fair, I only found the first pair. He hunted down the second.

I think it must be way easier to find 16Xish skis at crazy cheap prices compared to other sizes?

I think that's absolutely true. Big factor, IME.

That is a fine two ski quiver. Pugski approved.

I have the LX82 thanks to @nay and I am rather loving them! They just have this buttery smoothness to them. I don't know how else to describe it.

Second on the MX 98... Or Monster 98... Or E-100, maybe in that order.

Havent been on the new Head, but have been on he Kastle and E100 both were not my cup of tea. The Kastle is fairly straight and is a ski I would probably like more out west but for a ski like this here at Stowe I like a tighter sidecut so I can tip and do mini GS turns though crud on relativity flat and crowded pitches. The E100 felt hooky despite having a similar sidecut to the bones.

So lots of sidecut like your SuperBros?

different applications. The super bros are quite turny, and 40-60 mph on the rail......

Night league races: Atomic FIS slaloms, 165cm. My Mikaela channelers. :)
Groomer days, although it's remarkably versatile: Head Rally, 170cm
Daily driver: K2 Amp Rictor 90, 177cm
Powder skis: Nordica Patrons, 185cm
Rock skis: Blizzard Magnum 8.5ti, 174cm

And I have a pair of DPS Wailer 99's... Probably mount them up with touring bindings so that I don't have to carry them the next time I schlep up to Tuckerman's Ravine. Or use them when I go out west. They were awesome at Snowbird and Squaw.

My skis are rarely all in the same place at the same time, but here goes ... deep breath ... this is including two pairs I just acquired but aren't actually in my hands yet ...

Line Celebrity 100 @ 165, Fritschi Eagle AT bindings
yellow Scott The Ski @ 165 (looking to sell)
Nordica Santa Ana @ 169
Line Sick Day 110 @ 172 (will probably sell if the La Ninas work out)
Nordica La Nina @ 169
Volkl Two @ 176

... Hey, that really isn't as many as I feared before I started listing them. Then there are two carver pairs on loan that I'm waffling over. I suspect that if there's a dry spell, I should use them to work on killing off that tail push habit.
