Yeah, I thought it was long ago decided that the ideal number of skis to own is N+1, where N is the number you currently own.
It's the same with flash lights, screwdrivers, knives, bottles of beer, etc.

Anyone want to buy some Mertrons; asking for a friend.

Many years ago, I donated my B5 Metrons to the local high school ski swap.

Last year I rode up the lift with the kid that bought them for $50 and he LOVED them!

Said he had demoed other hardpack skis and "they all sucked".

The 100s eliminated my 107s and 91s so I'd say go with them but the 93 is probably a good daily driver for most conditions.

Seriously, yes. During a typical week, the 100 might be better, but honestly, JH is generally steep enough that the 93 will get you planing very nicely.

My friend could alternatively bring a pair of Fischer Ranger 98's as a OSQ. Or a 2SQ of something 85-90mm and either one of Völkl 100Eight or Stöckli Stormrider 107, depending on airline baggage weight limits.

I'd just check the long-term forecast prior to departure, and choose accordingly.

This year, we got skunked. Not a single flake of snow in five days. That only happens about every five or six years. Last year, I didn't ski anything other than 100s.

Can I be a has-been if I've never been anybody? (A friend who wants to say "I don't ski the bumps anymore" but never really did ski them well asked this.)

No... to quote The Replacements... you're not a has-been, you're a never-was...

Along those lines, my favorite, from Tom Waits:

All your crying don't do no good
Come on up to the house
Come down off the cross, we can use the wood
You gotta come on up to the house

Is it a bad sign if a Bloody Mary or two has replaced coffee as the morning beverage needed to start the day? Asking for a friend.
:bloodymary:
Tomato juice has lycopene...just saying.
