Would be more than 3 mil. 6 mil for lifts alone. 4 mil for lodge. 1.5 mil for hotel renovations 1.3 mil for groomers. 3 mil for snowmaking.
I was being nice.

I looked into it 4 years ago before a realtor got involved. :)

Yikes, no one would get a good return on that investment. WC needs to pursue a different biz model. Likely no snow making, maybe ditch hotel or minimally invest in it. Buy used lifts or t bars if lifts need to be replaced. Maybe promote skinnng on nearby peaks or other winter activities.

On a related note, indianhead and blackjack merged. I hope their casino idea fails.

Whitecap would be ok with those improvements but it needs to be a year round midwest destination. Something has to be taking place every weekend.

Big snow for U.P. predicted for Thursday. Houghton area could see a foot of snow. Of course it's the weather so the guessing begins.

First runs at www.nordicmountain.com for me was Sunday. I always find it weird to ride lifts over grass and leaves. Glad the season has begun.

I have been looking at the webcams at work, but it seems thin. Plus you can’t see the pitches just the run outs. Was hoping for a trip report. But thanks. The drive from Chicago always makes me hesitant if the conditions can go south.

I don't ski Granite. I'll see if I can get a friend to report.

Lutsen and Spirit Mtn are both open. Ridiculously hot in Duluth today though, not helping! So we will have to see how it is by Friday.
For me, with kids, looking to get our first time on new, bigger skis, I want a nice easy run, so Spirit is better than Lutsen(their green run is a cat track for the lower half), as well as the drive time difference. But if you want steeper stuff, Lutsen does have one of their Eagle Mtn, black diamond runs open.

The upcoming cold temps are going to help a ton. Wild Mountain is saying they'll be 100% open in a week's time with the snow making they'll be able to do coming up.
