Thats good to know, ill be there with the kids this sat.

They're actually not opening today, just so they can make snow all day on as many runs as possible. Should be really good conditions this weekend with them doing that. Moonshine and Ego Alley were really the only main runs they didn't have open yet and I expect both to be open this weekend. Doubt the wall will be open by this weekend. That's usually the last one they open up.

5" of snow for Wed. Should be a great first patrol shift of the season. Florida today, skiing in fresh snow tomorrow evening.

Wild and Trollhaugen report 3" yesterday which should really help things at both places.

My son on the race team was complaining about 'all the piles of snow on the racecourse' because they had to slip it several times

We skied Lutsen this past weekend. They had the main, center, front side run open on Eagle, and the bridge run off the lake side. On Moose they had a few things open. It was good skiing, firm and a bit icy in spots, but. Nice and quiet.
They were making snow hard in the other stuff, so combined with the natural snow today, this coming weekend should have quite a bit open.

As usual anymore it's a slow start to the ski season outside of Omaha - just waiting on some more cold weather.

I think I will have to head a bit north this weekend -- good skiing in Minnesota from what I can tell.

Need to get in my first day of the season. Maybe I need to head for France — they are getting dumped on!

Here is what it should look like this time of year!

Anyone ski granite peak yet this year? Have some acquaintances that will be heading up there in a few weeks, just curious to give them a heads up.

Big storm this week?!? Fingers crossed. I already have Friday off to ski with my son and his cousin at Wild Mountain so this couldn't be any more perfect. Traveling to and from work on Thursday is going to be a nightmare however.

Local hill, www.nordicmoutain.com is switching their rental fleet to Rossignol this year. The Experience RTL line.

Looks like Michigan West coast should get some lake effect today.

Hit Paoli Peaks yesterday (south central Indiana) for some turns. They had all 4 chairs and almost everything open. No crowds to speak of and excellent coverage on all the open trails. Learned to ski here many years ago and it holds a special place in my heart. They had the snow guns going all day long. Worth the drive for some turns!!

Day 8. It was minus 18 (before windchill) this morning in Omaha so no local skiing, so I drove 3 hours south where it was in the single digits for a high.

Snow Creek in Weston, MO

With the cold temps I had the whole place to myself in the morning.
