“why doesn’t he throw the dang phone!“
That’s been suggested before, be ready for a flogging.Has anyone considered that he could be a skilled marksman and had his firearm loaded?

No. If he was he would’ve pulled the side arm out and fired a shot to scare it instead of telling it to f** off, or done both. Since it wasn’t charging there’s no need to shoot to kill which isn’t that easy anyway. Having some situational training is better as skilled at target shooting may be useless depending on the person.Has anyone considered that he could be a skilled marksman and had his firearm loaded?
Isn’t Colorado in America, so a running with a handgun on the belt isn’t that far off base.No. If he was he would’ve pulled the side arm out and fired a shot to scare it instead of telling it to f** off, or done both. I doubt he’d be “trail running” on a gravel road in Colorado with a rifle.

Probably she will discipline the kittens more to not doddle so far behind and run to play with human strangers, in some universal way that moms know how to do that is beyond our comprehension.I wonder what this cat learned from her encounter with a human and how it might influence her in the future.
I missed this when you originally posted it but ....wow.Here's a video of another mountain lion encounter in Utah from a few years ago, but in the southern part of the state. Note the size and power of the beast, who's not pleased to be caught in a leg hold trap meant for a bobcat. The video features a DWR conservation officer, a bobcat trapper, and a very large lion. Turn up the volume to hear how ferocious a lion can be.
