So, was there no commentary at all on the NBC Sports Gold Snow Pass?
If there was, I failed to find the magic button. You don't like it, you can mute it, but if you do like it and it's not there ...

Are you thinking of one of the Norwegians? What a showing by that team today! The Swedes had some troubles. The Swedish woman who was 8th after the first run was impressive, I thought. Supported herself well on the second, so no fluke. Can't remember her name.

It's not really about ice, but about stones. Glaciers around here are in so bad conditions that it's really painful to see that. Just last few days when I was visiting my friends in ski rooms around here in Soelden, most of guys are pretty much without good skis to even get through the races this weekend. With racing thing is, you run over stone, and edge gets scratched (on base side), and on WC level, most of time it means skis goes back to factory for grinding. Just yesterday afternoon, I helped friend to prepare some 12 pairs of gs skis to get them ready to be send back to factory for grinding, leaving him with 7 pairs for 2 racers.... Hell even my brand new Rossi GS skis are gone after getting back from track of today's women first run.

Well the only Swede in the top half I think was Hansdotter... and she's a SL specialist.

Thanks, that probably saves me some time searching.Today's Men's Giant Slalom has been cancelled due to weather conditoins (lots of fresh snow on the track and continuing to fall + very strong winds). No fair competition possible.

I think MS was smart not to “go all out” under the circumstances.@Eleeski, you crack me up
No innuendo, Tessa Worley let it rip in the 2nd run & won. Shiffrin had 2 solid runs & proved that she can ski well but needs to go all out to win in GS she took 3rd. Brignone had a clean first run & stayed with it in the second to take 2nd. Rebensberg lost a lttile in the second run but managed 4th. Brunner back from injury skied into a solid 5th tying with Mowinckel. Holdener looked solid in 7th. Some strong performances from higher bib numbers rounded out the top 15.
Here you go...

I agree it was probably the right move. She looked nervous in the start area so she may be still dealing with that. I’m sure that third place got rid of some of the cobwebs and hopefully gave her some confidence for the future. At almost 1 second behind and from comparing past performances, I would say she was skiing at less than 90%. I think Worley was loose and relaxed and was able to ski to her full potential.I think MS was smart not to “go all out” under the circumstances.
With such a rough track, bad snow, and horrible visibility, my guess is that she didn’t want to risk her season, before it got cranked up.
It was a good move. Her 90% was good enough to land on the podium.
Were there any ski issues? Earlier talk speculated on the glacier ice damaging skis. Was there enough snowfall to fix that?
