Keep in mind that the GS races in Soelden, and the SL races a couple of weeks later in Levi, Finland are not only the traditional venues to kick off the WC season in the tech events, BUT are also two of the few stops where the men and women will both be racing. Makes for a fun weekend, and great racing to watch!

I will be in Bormio when the men have their downhill race there.

Besides the glitz of Kitz, I think Bormio is my favorite track!

Gotta luv the big, steep sweeping turns in the middle.

Vonn just announced her retirement after this season. I doubt she will race in Solden probably just focus on speed ?

Anyone else looking forward to the Birds of Prey?
Missed my opportunity to attend Birds of Prey a few years ago but will be looking forward to it anyway. BoP is usually on NBC so TV coverage is usually delayed & mostly highlights instead of the full race.

Has anyone researched US race coverage for this season?

Last season it was spread between Olympic Channel, NBCSN & NBC. If you didn't have all 3 you were gonna miss something or have to try & catch races on internet streaming. Last year there was good, complete & timely Russian coverage of most events on YouTube but you can't count on it & it is in russian.
I always prefer to DVR the races & watch on my big screen with easy rewind, FF & slomo.

Green light for Sölden World Cup openers with positive snow control

http://www.fis-ski.com/alpine-skiin...d-cup-openers-with-positive-snow-control.html

Fingers crossed that the weather & conditions cooperate for a great opener!
Anyone ready to make some podium picks?

Bormio is a favorite, both as a race and as a resort. St Catherina (Deborah Compagnionis home village) just a few km:s up the valley has a superb run also. Go over the top to sunny valley for s u p e r b lunch and their own local Nebbiolo.

Yep. That thread is here : https://www.pugski.com/threads/watching-world-cup-skiing-in-the-us-on-tv.12001/

EDIT : That was for other folks that find this thread @4ster ... I know you're already posting in the other thread.

I am just hoping the Russians come through and sneak the race on to YouTube for a while. I am not counting on any of that this season though because if NBC is charging $70 for their gold coverage, l think they will do their best to shut down any broadcast leaks.
