Best coffee ice cream was Starbucks, but haven't seen it in the NY metro area in years (if it's even still made). I find B +J flavors too sweet and over the top. For a non-premium ice cream, I find Friendly's 'Forbidden Chocolate' pretty good, especially when it's on sale for $2.50/half gal.

When I was a young boy, one of my first summer jobs was scooping ice cream at Breslers 33 Flavours. It was good ice cream, way better than BaskinRobbins. But the BEST ice cream came from the Stoney Creek Dairy. Such creamy goodness! Unfortunately , they have closed long ago.
