A big part of the Ikon crowd at Jackson were Colorado skiers.

They were the ones who were forced to pay more for the Ikon pass (over RMSP which disappeared). Naturally, they need to get something out of the extra cost... by going to Jackson!

Now Jackson skiers are getting the option in reverse: same cost, more crowd, with option to ski other mountains!

Doesn't help much if you ski Aspen a lot.

That’s true, but if you predominately ski Aspen does it really matter if they give you an Ikon pass? Heck-for what they’re charging they should be able to give away both the Ikon and Epic base passes.

So you think nobody who skis “predominately“ at Aspen would have ANY interest skiing Jackson or Big Sky?

Sure-For the price they’re charging they should include your airfare there as well.

There are certainly a number of people from Colorado that would use this to ski Aspen and Copper regularly and then throw in the few days at Steamboat and maybe a quick road trip over to Utah and this becomes a huge value. While the $1900 seems expensive, it really isn't if you look at season pass prices outside of Colorado and the Epic/Ikon passes. If you do an Ikon full pass plus a 7 day Aspen Classic pass you're already at $1363 for 14 days of skiing at Aspen. It doesn't take but a few more days at Aspen to see the value in this deal.

Ikon doesn't offer a senio'rs rate but for next year's Jackson Hole Gathering the 7 day Seniors Buy Pass (some blackouts) from JH is $389, early bird price until April 30 and unchanged in price from last year. So, $55.57/day and maybe some Grand Targee $65 (cheaper if bought on line) senior's lift tickets.

Along with the cheap winter time accommodation in the town of Jackson, and also along with the $135 senior season pass at Whitefish for age 70+, my USA ski trip for 2020 is mostly settled. No Ikon needed.ogwink

No, but the senior’s rate for an Aspen pass is just under $1400, compared to just over $900 for the full Ikon pass by itself...

yea the hypocrisy and elitism abound; they look down at the ikoners visit, but then immediately ask about how much is the CMH heliski discounts, because of course they wouldn't ski riff-raff resorts.

All good fun. I expect everyone here, just by nature that they have signing up and participating in an online Ski community appreciates community and the logic and benefits of supporting a community and welcoming people to grow the sport instead of taking the position of keeping people out :beercheer:

*well,....not everyone. (ie. read DV threads)
