I'm probably the lone thin sock naysayer on the site. Over about 100 days of skiing new boots, I'll go from a very thin sock to a kind of thick-ish one as the liners inevitably pack down a bit.
There is no way I could pass the blindfold test between them in terms of fit, control, etc..
But the thick-ish ones always come out of the boot at day's end less damp than the thin ones. Always. And they are warmer.
