I'd bet Chris Davenport is on a Kastle of some kind. ;)
Correct. With Scarpa boots.

Mike Hafer (retired D-Team) Blizzard/Tecnica, WRC, Bonafide, Tecnica R9.3 150 boot.

Nick Herrin is usually on a Rossi Hero Masters 21m cheater gs ski. 181cm I think. Even at Crested Butte.

I know waterski pros use basically stock skis. There is some R&D going on but winners make it into production quickly.

Buyers do consider what the top skiers use and it is a very strong decision point among the competitive field. Of course it important to demo. And it is always the skier not the ski.

I don't know about snow skis because "I can't believe they are pros, I'm so much better than them!"

Fwiw- a number of the Head athletes have been rocking the new Rally as a consumer ski.

When I was recently granted access to the Head catalog, I grabbed some 168cm iSL's as a technical ski.

We skied with @Daron Rahlves today, His weapons of choice are the new Hawx Ultra 130, he loves the light weight and skis are the Vantage 100 w/ Sth216 as an all mountain set up and the new Backlands 109 w/ Tracker 16's.

Not surprised about the Volkl skis. He's was wearing Volkl swag at a interski conference. That being said, I've seen him on Dynastars over the span of several years. Maybe Volkl has been a recent move...

Matt's brother is on and has been on Dynastar for quite some time. Matt was on Salomon for quite a while before Volkl

Jeb was on Dynastars and (as he called them) blueberry boots when he was my ESA coach back in 2006

Seth Morrison and Sean Pettit frequently ski prototypes - often for deciding next year's model; at least early and late season at Loveland, I've been told. But they also ski their signature models, the K2 Pinnacle 118 and the Pettitor 120.

Because he does a lot of tricks (and is a short guy), Sean prefers the 179 Pettitor mostly, again I've been told. A surprise to lighter weight people who love the 189 mounted forward, but it makes sense if he's tricking. You can see him on videos on the Pettitor 120 spinning and flipping off cliffs and pillows. Human cannonball.

Friends at Christy Sports have skied with them and gone up the lift with them, at times. I recall those friends saying Seth was on a prototype Pinnacle 118 version last fall that was more 5 point shaped than the current model.

Oh, and early season Sean Pettit also skis the Shreditor 102.
(That ski has a turn shape and feel that is modeled to behave like the Pettitor, seems like.)

If you want to know what the "real" pro's use....look on the feet of the higher-level racers from NorAms or the WC.

Watching those PSIA skiers (the best instructor/skiers around, I guess) they still SUCK compared to an ex-racer like Rahlves.

Watching Shiffrin through the gates and skiing (behind) Lilia for a run yesterday convinced me of that.

(And I've personally skied with NorAm and NCAA men from Reno that blow doors off just about anyone.)

Lila is currently skiing on Fischer GS skis, saw and fondled them at the tune shop.

And interestingly enough, she is a Lange skier...but what are these unbranded boots on her feet??? I saw them up close in the line and also skiing....no markings of any kind.

@Philpug does Jim S. do her boot work?
