I have the same bag, and I'm a big fan. After three seasons of flying to ski trips, I've settled on this luggage arrangement which has worked extremely well for me.

Wear:
  • Walking boots
  • Casual clothes
  • Ski jacket
Standard Carry On Suitcase:
  • Ski Boots (with multiple pairs of socks stuffed inside)
  • Baselayers, Facemask, Ski Gloves, Goggles, etc.
  • A few days worth of casual clothes
  • Toiletries
Ski Bag (checked)
  • Skis, wrapped in towels for extra padding.
  • Ski pants stuffed into side
  • Ski poles
Dakine Boot Bag: (checked as my boot bag)
  • Helmet
  • Any extra baselayers or misc. clothing that's not necessary for the first day or two on the slopes
Basically, this means that even in a worst case scenario, I'm still good to ski for a few days after just a quick trip to rent some skis and pick up a new helmet and pants. All three of those are relatively replaceable in my mind, while I'd still have the more personalized stuff that I'd hate to replace (boots, goggles, jacket, goggles, etc.)
