Both sides are bigger separately than many single areas. My list, my rules!:micdrop:
& when the top is closed like much of this season, it really becomes 2 separate areas :thumb:

What about Slide & Rose which were 2 for a long time?

Sorry, leaving Heavenly as two since it crosses state lines!
Based on your rules, Lost Trail Powder Mountain would be two ski areas. This is also questionable.
However, I do see a loophole for your Heavenly logic. Even though you can ski back and forth from state to state, Sky Express goes on wind hold very often, so if in one day, you had to drive from state to state, it might count as two areas. ;)

So I grew up here in the northeastern United States and now have been skiing over 50 years. Have covered most of the ski region from the Pocono's of Northeastern PA through Northern New Hampshire. and really enjoyed it all. But the kids are grown and retirement is calling soon. With that in mind we have purchased a place out in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and opened a whole new world to explore. Prior to our purchase we have covered the Salt Lake City areas and I-70 Front Range areas pretty throughly but now I looking forward safari-ing the west. Targeting the 4 corner/New Mexico/southern Colorado & Utah regions in one direction and the Idaho/Montana/Wyoming region in the other direction. Also have the desire to get over to the Cascades and Sierra so there is alot on the plate.

Added Brighton. @dbostedo, I'm counting that separately from Solitude even though they're in the same canyon.

I was excited because my list had me getting close to 100. Then I looked closer and realized I had forgotten several so now I'm over 100. Kinda anticlimactic. But I'm sure by someone else's rules I'm still under. ogsmile

This is fun. Started consistently skiing (25ish days a year) 15 years ago with only other experience being a couple college party weeks or HS trips back before ski brakes aka the ouch age. Red is new (in 3 weeks). They just installed a gondola and snowmaking upgrades Looks out over the Atlantic

Tennessean here who coaches wrestling during the winter so I dont get much time. I took a 20+ year break while my son was growing up playing sports in Hs and College so Im trying to make up for lost time. I usually get two late season trips in a year after wrestling season ends for me.

At that point you just have lists like this:

Italy
Austria
Germany
France
You forgot, as for what the Alps are concerned:
Switzerland (one of my friends living there told me, all lift systems are "public transportation" and thus accessible under the "general yearly ticket" of the Swiss railways. As such, one could consider the Swiss areas all as one... :-D. But maybe, I hope, I have misunderstood him)
Liechestein
Slovenia

Pyrenees:
Spain
Andorra
France
:-D

Oh, yes, can I also count my flat land village? In snowier ages (a geological era ago, meseems) we (me and my uncles) used to ski cross country in the snow covered fields around it. But I also have a picture of my grandmother actually skiing (well, standing in ski attire and skis on feet) in the backyard of her family farm (which is, because said backyard still exists- sadly the farm itself not anymore, what was left after family troubles had been parcelized amongst the heirs-, sloped)

It's been five years since my last post in this thread. Over that time, I've added a dozen new resorts to my list, added in italics.

Colorado:
1. Keystone
2. Arapaho Basin
3. Breckenridge
4. Beaver Creek
5. Vail
6. Steamboat
7. Snowmass
8. Aspen Highlands
9. Aspen Ajax
11. Copper Mountain
12. Winter Park

Utah
12. Park City
13. Deer Valley
14. Alta
15. Snowbird
16. Solitude
17. Brighton

California

19. North Star
20. Kirkwood

Wyoming
21. Jackson Hole

Montana
22. Big Sky
23. Whitefish

Idaho
24. Schweitzer

Canada
25. Whistler Blackcomb
26. Red Mountain
27. Whitewater

Minnesota
28. Afton Alps
29. Wild Mountain
30. Hyland Hills
31. Buck Hill
32. Spirit Mountain
33. Lutsen Mountains

Bucket List
All of them. :)

But seriously, I do want to hit every major resort in North America. Beyond that, I feel like my bucket list is divided into a few categories.

First there's the high profile, multipass destinations. Telluride currently tops this, which is probably happening next year. SkiBig3 feels like a matter of time. Mammoth is up there, Sun Valley has caught my eye, and Snowbasin also looks great. Crystal if I ever get an Ikon pass. All of these are pretty easy to make a reality - could be knocked out with a single airfare booking and a free weekend.

Then there's the somewhat lesser known or harder to reach spots. Grand Targhee tops this list, but is always a logistical challenge for me. Fernie might happen next year, and possibly Crested Butte, too. I'd also put a handful of really overlooked ski areas naer the top of this list - Castle Mountain, Tamarack/Brundage, 49 North, Lookout Pass/Silver, Beaver Mountain, Sundance, and Sunlight, among others. Mt. Bachelor in the spring.

I also have a few bucket list "trips" for the spots that are hardest to reach for me. For example, I'd love to make a longer loop around the S.W. Colorado area, hitting Taos, Wolf Creek, Purgatory, Powderhorn, etc. I'd also love to check out the Kamloops/Kelowna area - Sun Peaks, Big White, Silver Star, and Apex all look great, but a real challenge to reach. Montana would be easier, with some sort of mix between Red Lodge, Bridger, Lost Trail, Great Divide, etc.

And lastly, there's the more experience-based bucket list items. Cat skiing in general, or even better, a multi-day trip at one of the Interior B.C. lodges. A Taos-style ski week. A guide in Japan. The Alps.

Is that enough to keep me busy for a lifetime?
