By that do you mean, which one is branded as the longest in cm? Which one is longest measured tip to tail along the base? In a straight line? And how do I know you haven't put the skis at different angles?

That would be poetically perfect, but alas it is beyond my power to arrange.
Reminds me of the blind wine tasting I went to where the wines were wildly different but every one turned out to be a Chardonnay.

The middle ones arrived in the mail today -- low mileage demos, look to be in nearly perfect condition. I was introduced to them at the Alpine Meadows demo day you (Phil) organized a couple of years ago.

Glad you finally got them!

Some manufacturers measure length of running surface and others use cord length and sometimes they come out of a press and come close enough to what they call a 188 CM.

Ya, I've heard contact length vs full length vs running length. It's still all over the place.

Right to left, Head SS in a 170, Nordica GSR in a 181, Salamon Lab GS in a 185, CoreUPT Lunatic in a 185-shorter than the Lab GS but a twin?, gets weirder here.. K2 PE in a 179, Salamon 1080 in a 171, K2 Cabrawler in a 179?? The Cabrawler 179 twin is shorter than the 1080 twin 171, 1080 twin 171 has less running length than the Head 170 non twin.. All over the place hahaha! All are full camber, not much early rise on any too..

I have jokingly said that of late the Metric System is a subjective unit of measurement. Where is gets even more frustrating with running length, core length ect is even within a manufacturer. Lets take Nordica, that three 177 skis..NRGy100, NRG90 and Enforcer...all these skis are different lengths. If this is confusing for us, think about how it is for the consumer? Lets not even get started on boot widths and volume.

Mine, the K2, Atomic, and Shotzski DPS are 188, 189, and 184. At least the 184 is clearly the shortest.
I remember the first time I met Phil in person, at Okemo, he commented the K2's were not only a 188, but a long 188.
(Wow, have I really had those since PPMW days?)

And then you talk effective edge. These are arranged in descending order of effective edge:

Salomon X-Drive 8.0 175cm is the longest
Fischer Motive 95 180cm is the second longest
Moment Underworld 187cm is the shortest

Those are measured weighted, on a flat table. I don't remember the exact measurements anymore, but the Moment at 13cm longer than the Salomon has significantly less effective edge. For good reason of course.

I told my wife they would make great mogul skis - able to hit the tops of a dozen or so bumps at the same time.

Perhaps, though, a bit of a challenge in the glades.

She opted for a pair of 149 Volkl Kenja's instead.
