Any mention of ABC or Silverado in the opening ops blog here ? I don’t see any..

LIFT + TERRAIN UPDATES:

  • We finally got Headwall fully broken free of ice, but by the time we get the chairs back on, it will almost certainly have to go on wind hold again. We are going to continue to actively de-ice this lift. We want to ride it, too, you know! It isn’t just closed for no reason.
  • Crews have started on Oregon Trail, which is the access road for Silverado. It was too “low tide” when we tried this a few weeks ago, but wet storm cycles like we’ve been in are good for this area of the mountain. We’ll be working on access to Silverado during the day throughout the storm cycle. We will not have an ETA for opening until we get down there and see how the lift is doing.
  • We are waiting for parts to arrive for Broken Arrow. It likely will be closed for another 2 weeks.
  • The Funitel has occasionally been opening with a slight delay due to frozen cabins. Normally, we can store cabins in our terminals and prevent freezing, but there is a storage component that is broken. We are hopeful that we will get this repaired this weekend.
  • Olympic Lady is fully dug out and we will run it if the winds allow. The top terminal does sit on a ridgeline and, being a lightweight two-seater chair, this can pose difficulties during storms.
  • Subway is still on mechanical hold. A specific part had to be manufactured for this chair and we are working on it as quickly as we can.
  • We still do not have an estimated opening timeframe for Alpine Bowl Chair yet. It has been a tough situation trying to source a very specific part that still has not arrived.

We should see quick progress.
The lift manufacturer, Leitner Poma, has a truck and a prefab building on site near Far East lift.

Update: @Andy Mink has heard from Palisades that they’ll run Red Dog this weekend ! We’ll see.
(Right now all of top has wind closure)

From Jan12 blog:
Red Dog is slated to run this weekend. You’ll want to tune into our social channels to find out when.
We have built the access road for Silverado and will keep it maintained throughout this cycle. We hope to have an update on this area after the next series of storms.

If they can get it going, it will really come in handy this storm weekend to increase terrain and uphill capacity; especially considering people are paying their $269 a day and $800 a night this weekend.
Not just reddog but will also connect in resort chair.

The pt app can track trails & lifts. There seems to be a problem. I rode Red Dog twice yesterday. The app missed both.
Showed 1 ride on Far East instead. Not even spinning. A third world problem !

Red Dog is down for the 8 count.
Hinted at last week but today PT announced Red Dog is now closed:

"Start of the Red Dog re-splice.
Thank you for your patience while we complete this over the next couple of days"

The pattern is that Far East chair will stay closed also when the new Red Dog is getting major work.
I'm thinking this could take all week !

It.s a damn good thing the splice held the past 2 weeks or riders could have had a very bad day ! !
