I was asked to give a little more detail on my ski rack. I used maple from my local sawmill for the base. It is basically 2"x3" and 12' long. I also purchased 1-1/8' maple dowel and a 1"x4" (3/4" x 3.5") maple board for the hangers. I didn't want to sand shaped boot plugs and use something that could be purchased easily. Basically used the shape of the Hangemright, which seems to out of business now.

The dowels are glued into the base about an inch in. I also glued the hangers on the dowels and used one screw too. I need to make a few more for the shop on another wall and back of my workbench. Right now I have 7 pairs of skis that need to be tuned and they are all standing against the wall.

Upgraded the tuning bench. Slideable supports with spray rubber on the top to stop ski movement.
