Building a red time machine will help too.

If you are selling tickets, please PM me.

I think the skier was Junior Bunous ? (sp) that was referenced as being 220 lbs and floating.
Just think these guys were skiing deep powder on likely< 70 waisted skis.

light dry powder in open terrain is basically possible on anything if you have any skill.

I use to routinely ski Sl skis in utah powder days because it basically didnt matter out there, I d also use some 192cm Atomic thugs.

People ski on SL skis in deep wet snow all the time, no big deal. If you have the skills.

Changing the question a bit...

Q: ...want to ski like this guy, what should I buy?

A: A condo at Alta or Snowbird

Alternate answer: A time machine to go back to the 1950's

I don't think you can buy those skis,. Don't you have to carve them by hand out of a plank of spruce or something?

Let me get this right. Your looking down on wide expanses of waist deep blower, and then you get a wild hair to "duck into those tight trees, because the skiing is going to be so much better".

My mind just does not work that way.
Coming up for a breath of air from time to time is just fine with me. ;-)

yeah in the east we get wide open powder? read the whole thread for context.

My entire point is anything easy into you have to turn in various shapes in sizes. In a wide open bowl its easy.

but to be honest yeah I would usually rather ski powder in tight trees.....I also hate blower if I am just on the bottom anyways give me this snow we have had the past couple days and I am a ton happy surfing on the dense over being waist deep skiing on ice.
