Dumb Question About Tyrolia Bindings

I'm looking into purchasing a pair of 2018 Tyrolia Attack2 13 GW bindings. I have regular DIN soled ski boots. I understand that the GW bindings are DIN compatible, but am I sacrificing any safety by skiing these with DIN boots? I figure that the toe piece of the binding would be optimized for one system but perhaps I am wrong.
And since I have your attention, how does the above scenario play out with the Salomon STH WTR bindings?
