One of the new features we added is a Ski Selector; check it out when you get a chance. The glossary at the bottom of the page gives you an insight to the direction we are trying to go. We have kept many of the review features that you have enjoyed over the years such as "Who is it for?" and "Who is it not for?" along with each tester's "Insider Tip." You may notice there are "Buy It Now" options at the bottom of the pages; these will link you to @SkiEssentials and SkibootRX, two trusted stores that we have been dealing with since the launch of Pugski.com. Independent brands will have direct links to their product pages.

A new partner and link is Awayco. We talk a lot about demoing skis or renting them when traveling; well, Awayco can help. Chris Booth (formerly of Black Crows) and @Marshal (who we have worked with from his DPS days) are building a database through partnerships with shops all over the world to help you find and demo a particular ski. Awayco will also have bike and surf demos. We are excited about this new partnership.

We are in the process of adding all the skis we have tested over the past two seasons. I am putting in 10 or so each day starting with 2020, then we will get last year's up. We will add 2021 gear in the fall. We will still be doing our Cage Matches, and individual reviewers will continue their own comparisons as in the past.

We had a lot of help from a few key people on the site to create this as well as the new product pages. I would like to thank @elemmac, @Analisa, @dbostedo,@markojp, and@Mendieta for all of their help.

This is fantastic!
And these early season conditions have me jonesing for a frontside ski. I'll have to put the selector to use!

I think the page doorways need text titles as well as images. For example, in the attached screenshot I can't tell what ski I'm looking at.

Yes, we are on that, we already let the developers know...but if you turn it to landscape, it is good.

Pretty cool! Maybe I missed it, but is the original discussion to the chosen ski linked? That’s one thing that makes reading about skis here more interesting than just a blurb.

Other initial thoughts from the mobile usage-
Too much space on the ski tail photos. Adds nothing, hides results in portrait mode. ( Having to change orientation for basic info, like a list, isn’t good. Detailed table or comparison, fine)

Too much space on brand selection. I’d put this near the bottom maybe. Or make a way to quickly opt in or out of brand selection. Most people will want suggestions, and the first thing they see is a wall of brands, some they never heard of, they have to wade through. Like the ski shop. I’d say they're looking to be escorted to the room where the selections have been made for them.

There prob needs to be a way to easily avoid putting in waist widths. Some people just don't know.
Edit - I just played with it a bit. Seems like the waist width has precedence. Eg, I checked “frontside”, then put in 100 to 140. “No results found”. I put in 90 to 140 and some 90-97 skis come up.
Makes sense, so if the software is making waist width parameters on frontside skis, then maybe put them in next to the words?
And/or note by the width input what the relationship is to the categories.

I must be doing something wrong. Just for a kick I put in my criteria to see if my skis showed up. But no results.

Perhaps that's why no Kastle's came up when I just tried it?

Anyway, looks like a great tool for the site.

Looks like it will be a nice feature to the site once the database is filled out and the glitches are resolved. Skier ability filter doesn't work for me at all right now, except leaving it un-selected or select only expert, but you probably already know that.

Dig it! Could it be tweaked to allow 5CM increments?
We started off with every increment, 60, 61, 62, ect then thought about 5 cm but there is too many times that someone might be comparing a 84 and 86mm ski than 79 and 81mm. Thats why we settled on 10cm.

Right now there is a bug in the system. The developers will be working on it tonight.
