Will a pair of these be included with every purchase of Peak Skis?! ;)
It took me a second to get that.

For those of you that don't know Fuxi, he billed these as the 'Bode Miller socks' as Bode designed them and Fuxi worked with DeFeet to have them made.

Fuxi DeFeet Socks

Speaking of his products Fuxi says: 'You know they're good because I don't make them!' There's an old joke in there.

Anyone here try Lorpen T3+ Polartec Superlight Race Ski Over the Calf Socks ?

I ordered size Medium based on size chart, they fit but the diagonal to bottom of heel seam was easily able to migrate up along the back of my heel. I reordered a size Small, downsized the ski sock, lol. I'm used to up-sizing the Smartwool ski socks to a Large.
These T3+ Polartec Superlight's seem pretty sweet carpet testing in the old Salomon X-max 120's. Hoping for temps to drop and a decent snow storm(s) here in the East put them to the test...

I use Lorpen Ultralight merinos, but the ones I have they don't make anymore. I got their descendents, but they are too tight for my calves. I've been given Darn Toughs, Smart Wools, etc., but the only ones I use are the old Lorpens, holes and all (not in the foot-they were puntured by those plastic things in the packages and the holes have grown over time. :nono: )

I got gifted 2 more pairs over Christmas, but they are too thick. I save those for spring when my leg is "packed out" by my boot.

My toes get cold on 30* or below days. Using merino wool calf height socks. I saw alpaca sock ads, any fans or thicker ones?

I love alpaca socks but not for skiing, too thick, also not particularly durable for skiing. Great for casual wear.

Socks are part of a system, think about a different liner like Intuition, or using a boot glove, boot heater or heated socks; etc.

Makes sense but my liner are comfy just not warm in the toes when it's below 30*
Boot heater or glove? Not familiar what brands are good?

I use Lenz heated socks, the 5.0 and 6.0 direct heat to the toes. I know Thermic and Hotronic and others make them as well as booster heaters.

With all the options you can also use a Boot Glove, basically a neoprene cover on each boot.

Anyone try these? Worth it? I need some warmer options

see post #83, much better $$ @ REI + I got additional one day 20% off coupon deal.
Fit a little funky, downsized medium to small.
Yet to try 'em, would have for today's fresh snow only had follow up appointment after coming around an hour from death and spending the last week in a hospital, immobilized!
Surgeon next door neighbor, put me back together more than once, did say I'm always a minute from something catastrophic
And so it goes
Post Hosp PCP appointment earlier today, she said I'm good to resume running and can ski too. Hopefully tomorrows follow up appointment with specialist goes well too, if so, and another 3" - 5" shot of snow comes Wednesday, @Willyum215, I'll try them, although it won't be cold enough to put to the test, will still be something

What size shoe do you wear? Please post back if they are warm

running shoes size 8, street/dress shoes vary 7.5 - 8, ski boots 25.5 Bootfitters always bring me the 25/25.5's to try, exception being with Scarpa which breaks on the whole number, I need a 24.5/25 Scarpa
Could probably go to 24.5 in some other brands if they had a Topo or Altra run shoe shaped toe, know of any?

I can’t believe it’s not England!

I have nothing further to add to this discussion (other than my beloved Farm To Feet Jacksons appear to be discontinued?) but this is a great reminder for the skeptical to see their friendly neighborhood boot fitter.

I have exactly the same shoe size. 7.5 dress, 8 running, any smaller and I'd be bashing my toes. And am in a downsized 23.5 to have any semblance of heel hold. Same length, different feet, wildly different results. Because as it turns out, people's bodies are different!

Like I said, bootfitters in shops from VT to Whistler BC always seem to put me in a 25.5

Whoa, one finger shell fit, nah, I'm thinking you must have a Dixon Ticonderoga Pencil shell fit Might I ask what 23.5 ski boot are you stiffing your foot in?

Correct, the ski boot industry's general idea of a wide boot would be a WWll V2 rocket Try stuffing a hammer head shark into the V2's nosecone, No, that would not work Would work if a mako shark Blue shark needs a torpedo Hammerhead needs Bezos Blue Orgin rocket My foot is the hammerhead

Yup, highlighting that both are right and 2D size charts are meaningless. Should show this to everyone who comes here going “I wear a size 9 shoe which means I definitely need a 28”

Raptor 120. And yes, a one [of my very small] finger shell fit. Grinding in the toe for length and a moderately sized sixth toe bump on the right.

Without going down the thickness rabbit hole, can I ask if anybody knows of a quality, medium to thick ski sock that is of uniform thickness throughout?

Hate the cutouts/padded areas/etc.

I received a pair of these (the green ones) for Christmas. A bit thicker than I like, but okay.

I really like smartwool phd elite ski lite socks. Sometimes you can snag them off Sierra for $7 a pair. They seem to last and are nice and comfy.

Let me just re-re-repeat and re-stress on the importance of heated socks.

Me in normal socks at -15C-about 4 hours of lifetime before I give up and head for the lodge.
Me in heated socks in the same conditions-lifetime indefinite.

After the heated boot bags, heated socks are the biggest game changer I have ever encountered.
