What's your favorite baseball movie and why?

So many great ones. I'm going with the original Bad News Bears. Watching it right now.

A League of Their Own. Will always hold a special place for me. We lived a few blocks down the road from the ball park in C d' A, ID when they were filming it. They rebuilt the entire facility for the movie. Have watched a few games there.

For The Love of the Game, Keven Costner. When ever I am channel surfing and come across it, I stop to watch it. Not only about baseball but also about relationships.

A League of their Own own for sure. "Put these things on a leash"
Field of Dreams always makes me tear up " If he was such a good friend, he would have told you himself"
The Natural has corn it in that Iowa

What has not been mentioned...Major League..."Juuuust a bit out side. "

Not sure what my favorite is - probably Bull Durham.

But I'll also bring up The Sandlot as a good one... and Moneyball was really good (and I had read the book, which may have colored my view)... and I remember liking Eight Men Out, but haven't seen it in a long, long time.

Can I say the Ken Burns documentary series Baseball? Or, does that not really count as a movie?

Bull Durham at the top, definitely. Always happy to see any of the others mentioned except Field of Dreams, just not in my strike zone.
A good one not yet mentioned is The Old Rookie with Dennis Quaid.
Pride of the Yankees and '61 are must-see for us Yankee fans (but FFW past the mcgwire crap).

I did enjoy "For the love of the game", I have come to like Justin Timberlake as an actor.

Sandlot for me. I could just always relate to the neighborhood games and all the shenanigans that went on amongst the kids. Field of dreams is a close second. I just liked the concept of the movie and the historical players coming back to play.

Not a movie , but a brilliant series - 'Brockmire' Hank Azaria is a play by play announcer. Hilarious

Has "Damned Yankees" ever been made into a movie. That fun story, it should be.
