Ankle cuffs getting tighter on Smartwool & REI bottoms? Almost too tight to roll up above the boot now.

Has anyone else noticed that the ankle seam/cuff on the Smartwool and REI wool bottoms got tighter in the last season or two?

I've lost some weight so I don't think its my calf. I love the comfort and warmth of the 150 & 180 wool but since I live in the mountains and wear thermals daily, I really don't want to have to buy calf-length ones just for skiing.

I definitely noticed the tops got tighter. I lost a decent amount of weight this year but new 150 tops were verrrrry tight.

I cut all my lower base layers to boot height. We don't seem to have "capri" length in Canada. So use your scissors...

Nothing in your boots but your feet and socks.

I had the opposite problem trying on some Helly Hansen 3/4 base layers. The cuff was like a saggy sweater stretched out of proportion. I returned them.
