The White Wings have screwed on edges with black base overlay. Dave has a good shot of the surface in his post. The Bump Rider, Acrobat and Ballet have identical tail as Mark IV COMPs

I’ve seen this photo used in a Breckenridge poster.

That is Trygve Berge; he was the SS director of Breck for several years in the 60's. One of Stein Erickson's proteges (he had several). He had a ski shop downtown as well. I worked under him one season in High School. If memory serves me right he ended up getting busted for shoplifting or something equally ridiculous in the early 70's.

The guy could ski.

..and wasn’t the Peak 8 Base Lodge and cafeteria named after him?

Winter of 75. Not sure what Ski Area. Maybe Squaw?

Hope you don't mind -- I like your photo and was trying to pull some color out of it in Photoshop (still pretty grainy).

It just brings me back to when I learned to ski in 1975 as a young teen. :)

Assuming that is from about 1970, adjusted for inflation a pair of White Stars was about $1300 in 2017 dollars.

The skis are probably 60's. they are collectible to about a half dozen people if the condition is good and the length if right (for the right price, read low;) the bindings are not original(or safe)

Can anyone provide an approximate date as to their vintage? Thanks!

I think the White Star graphics changed for 1968-1969. Kneissl ads for 1966 and 1967 reflect the white and black graphic. The only imagery I have seen pre 1966 is an illustration from a January 1975 SKI magazine article about classic skis of the 1962 Kneissl White Star, also the same white and black. According to the article, Kneissl introduced the White Star in 1961.
