Question: what do you think about buying used, either canister or electric?
It’s worth noting that these packs have fixed lifetime ratings. My Alpride, for example, is rated for five years. With that said, it’s pretty clear to me that this is a lawyerly restriction, not a physics one, particularly with these super capacitor systems. They don’t degrade like lithium batteries do, and they don’t have to withstand the pressures of a canister pack.

So personally, I think buying a used Alpride E1 pack—particularly now that the E2 is available—is a great move and a killer deal. I expect to be using my E1 a decade from now. But whether you’re comfortable exceeding manufacturer guidance is a personal question.
