My list is small, and was lost to the Epic winds, so I still had to think for a while...

Mid-A
Boyce Park
Seven Springs
Hidden Valley
Laurel Mountain
Blue Knob
Timberline
Canaan Valley
Massanutten
Whitetail
Liberty
Roundtop

NE
Pat's Peak
Okemo
Sunapee

West
Vail
Aspen Mountain
Aspen Highlands
Buttermilk
Snowmass
Copper
Mammoth
Squaw Valley
Alpine Meadows
Whistler-Blackcomb

EDIT : Forgot the bucket list... I'm tempted to say "Every place else!", but I'll pick a few :

Alta/Snowbird
Big Sky
Telluride
Lake Louise/Sunshine
Jackson Hole

Those are mostly for the name/location... In reality, I'm sure I'd be just as happy to hit Steamboat, Winter Park, Heavenly, Snowbasin, and Sun Peaks, for instance.

I started 58 years ago, age four. I'll work on it. I guess the ones I've forgotten don't count anyway, because if you can't remember it, you might as well never have gone.

I'm missing one continent, Africa. That one will likely be checked off on a WROD in southern Africa as that is high season for safaris and would not detract from our winter. In the near term, most new additions to the above list of 212 areas will probably be in the Alps.

I'm speechless, TonyC. How on earth do you know not only order but number of times? I guess you keep track somehow but wow!

My ski list has been computerized since 1993 and in Excel spreadsheets since 2007. Pivot tables are very powerful for doing spur of the moment sorts.

My handwritten records through 1992 were 385 days at 55 areas. The Excel sheets have a code for region. The only manual work in producing that list above was dividing some regions into individual states or countries.

Unless I count two backcountry days at Carson Pass (one on Elephant's Back June 2017 and one on cross country skis in early 1990s where we had a long downhill to Woods Lakes), I'm stuck at 80 days which falls between the two highest categories so I didn't answer. I also did some hike-to skiing in the sand dunes S of Mt Rose (highway, pass and peak) in 1975-76 that I didn't count.

Castle Mountain or Fernie will probably be my next two ski areas in Feb 2018.

@TonyC I think you have Diamond Peak in the wrong state. When I didn't see it under NV, I thought maybe you were trying to forget about that day.

That's a manual edit I missed, now fixed. I appreciate that I was allowed to do that the day after the original post.:thumb:

And yes, that was an expensive day bouncing off a guard rail in the slush coming down Hwy 50 from Spooner Summit. :(

I'm too lazy to list the ones I skied. (a long one, but not quite as long as TonyC's )

So fast forward to bucket list, which is still constantly growing. Here're just the top of the list:

- Aleaska
- Le Grave
- Verbier
- Chamonix

I've only scratched the surface of Japan. So I'm not ready to rank them or make any kind of list just yet. Returning next winter and hope to stay a month or two. I expect some mountain will float to the top of the bucket list.

I guess I'm relieved that only two people have Whitefish on their bucket list. Means the crowds will continue to stay low. :(:yahoo:
First trip to Whitefish was in 71

It won't be my last... I hope.

Found an old map from 1977. Essentially it was just the front side back then. No backside, no Hellroaring Basin. Things have changed a ton.

This season is the 70th Anniversary. You should check it out.

I ski for people , and snow fall now.

"I've got no friends on snow days" Yet, friends and laughter is all I've got and the only reason to exist.

Resorts? Meh! You can have 'em.

Like "Birders" It seems like a life list is important to some. I've got more significant things to consider. Life comes and goes.
Or, put another way, "Life happens while we make plans" (to go to another ski area)
