These phone photos is not closeup. Our car was that far from this brown and there is nothing but the fence you see and our car from it.

Taken at Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR. If you are traveling down I-5 it is worth doing. They have one of the premier cheetah breeding programs in the world.

Wildflowers, bugs and marmots, oh my!

I had a nice assignment for my paper the other day.

Ahhh I miss that place so much! A few years ago, I was up there with my daughter, who I think was 7, and we went into the visitor's center, where there's a exhibit with a squirrel (not living.) Well, right next to it was a LIVE squirrel just hanging out with its (dead) buddy! I have a picture of it somewhere.

A family of moose has taken up residence in my neighborhood.

Most of these are images my neighbors posted on FB over the course of a few days.

Moose in the hood - MVIMG_20181002_132400163.jpg

This one is mine and was taken yesterday at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Then there are these also stolen from FB:

These animals seem quite comfortable among humans. So much that the police had to escort the kids to the bus stops.

And because the moose are getting too much attention, a bear had to make an appearance, too.

It is unfortunate but also necessary that my neighbors are discussing having CPW remove the moose and his family from our neighborhood. There are too many kids and pets running around for us to continue to share our very dense neighborhood with injured wildlife. Relocation would likely be a death sentence for him. :(

This poor bull limps and moves very slowly. He reminds me of how helpless my 17 y.o. pup became in her final days. (tears)
