I was sailing with friends off the California coast this week and although we didn't find much wind, we did see these...

Several years ago I swam with a large group of spinner dolphins off Maui. It would take a bit of a search to find the originals, but here are framed prints on my wall. Two in the water and one from the boat.

Last August I rode my bike out of town to watch the Perseid meteor shower and this crawled under the picnic table I was reclined on. I witnessed only one meteor that night, but it too was large and memorable.

It was a pretty special encounter. I sat not 20' from it for close to 1/2 an hour while I had lunch. He/she watched me while I watched him/her the whole time. I think it was waiting for me to fall off the cliff ;).

    Here are a few more.

A few years ago I was on the alpine slide at Whistler/Blackcomb. Came around a curve and there was a bear on the track. Don't know who was more surprised.

Magnificent hummingbird in SE Arizona. He is one of the largest hummingbirds; it was pretty neat to see.

Nice to see the turkey boys strut their stuff. Were the girls watching?

Here are some older encounters. A water garter that nearly swam up my pantleg whilst fishing a small stream, and a couple of mule deer on my way to same stream.

My parents house in Michigan is a haven for wild life. They have a pond and creek on the property as well as fruit trees and a decent size garden.

It's not the greatest photo, but we saw this bald eagle on the way to skiing last season. It was huge!!
