Funny, one of the things I love about steeps is they don't get bumped up. At least not nearly as quickly, and not in the typical ways on the super steep terrain.
When steep enough, the snow you kick up heads to the bottom rather than piling up. Unfortunately, terrain this steep is rare. And, of course, you have a good chance of going to the bottom too if you fall.
That's one of the many reasons I love Crested Butte. In spite of significant traffic, the steeps at CB don't get bumped out like lesser terrain.
This video of Olympian Wendy Fisher skiing CB when it hasn't snowed for quite some time is a great example:
I love skiing that stuff in those conditions. That's the most fun you can have skiing with no new snow, IMO.
