Do it NOW! (if you can) It's something special.

Just in off the back deck, looking at stars, feeling the wind. It's 10 degrees.

Frostbite is a non issue. It's WIND CHILL that one needs to be wary of.

Don't go out doors NAKED! You could catch WIND CHILL! (especially if you are dressed as a plastic gallon jug of water.)

I've done it to get the morning paper from the driveway when I didn't want to get my slippers wet, or go back upstairs for other footwear. And a long time ago at a hot springs.

Shoes are always optional when taking a quick step outside. (Note, though, the definition of “quick” may depend somewhat on temperature and surface conditions.)

To further the theme.

Whoa! The MILKY WAY! It's out there! Can you feel it?

(best appreciated barefoot in a snow covered drive way at 6 degrees F. (there is urgency in the observing) ;-)

I do it every year at the first snow. It's a kooky tradition I picked up from my counselor at this hippie summer camp I used to go to when I was a kid.

I do it quite often actually. Whenever there's a sauna in the ski appartment, there is a porch or garden also. If there is snow, you walk right in to it. Fresh air is my preferred way of cooling down when I come out of the sauna or steam bath. I love how the cold air covers my body and makes my skin tingle all over...

Its only fun when you're running to and from the hot tub. Careful not to slip and spill your drink

My ski boots fit perfectly. No hot spots or anything like that.

But on multi-day trips, standing barefoot in the snow for 30 seconds at the end of the day still feels GREAT!

Did that last week. Wife wanted something out of the garage freezer. It totally reaffirmed why I try to wear slippers around the house.

Not barefoot but with flip-flops on to get the mail or take out the garbage, and yes it is about the same thing.
