Graphics don't matter. Prices do. Ski prices from L->R (flat, no bindings): $100, $50, $180 (new), $110 (new, estimate, -$73 for the included new attacks), $150, $20, $150 (estimate, assuming -$200 for used Radicals).

I've spent near the same amount on bindings (2 x STH14/16 @ $90, 1 PX15 @$75, 1 GTO15 @ $90, 2 x Dynafit Radicals @ $200 & $225) as the skis.

I'm not allowed to have a quiver.

But I carry a set of Monster 83s that certainly fit the bill of goods I was sold the best I have experienced yet.

I also normally travel with a case of Old Style Pilsner.

Same here. I've always been happy enough with whatever I have to be patient and only jump on deals where a ski in very good condition or brand new old stock is under $150, or under $250 with bindings. In fact, $250 shipped with bindings is the most I've paid for any pair of skis since the 1980s..

@jmeb How do you like the 177 monster 83 vs 18X lenghts you have in your other slots? Do they feel too short?

Only two days of WROD skiing on them thus far. I think I certainly could have "handled" the 184s, but the 177s are definitely plenty of ski for what I need. One thing I've found with longer length skis is that you can be a bit less attentive to for-aft balance, having a longer ski to balance along. The 177s definately are more rewarding when I'm paying attention to being right in the sweet spot. And when I am, they are rocketships. Anyone thinking the Monster 83 is a watered down version of the Monster 88 -- I advise against that thinking. The 83 is plenty stiff and energetic, and has punished many a bad turn already.

I can't imagine "needing" more ski on most inbounds front-range groomer terrain. Maybe if I lived near some place less populated with big groomers (Aspen, Big Sky/Moonlight basin, Sun Valley, Snowbasin) I would want the 184 for when I really open it up. But the 177 skis as-long as my 184 skis with tip/tail rocker, and is capable of faster speeds than reasonable.

2011 Dynastar Twister 168cm (97 66 84 mm) Dynastar PX 12 Ski Bindings 2010 Blue 12.0 pounds

2015 Scott The Ski 155cm (121 87 113 mm) Look NX 11 Ski Binding 2015 10.8 pounds
2012 Rossignol S7 178cm (140 110 118 mm) Rosignol Axial2 XXL SPS Demo Bindings 14.7 pounds

The Twisters and S7's have been custom painted. My above 3 current skis will work in snow and terrain conditions I have interest in skiing though not in some all mountain conditions like junk snow and terrain I avoid. To understand my ski sizes note I'm a small thin old guy at 5'6" 137 pounds.

Most of my hours are on the narrow waisted Twisters that are best on groomed and shaped up moguls. I hated the stock punk graphics so that gave me an initial reason for painting skis. Lift riders sometimes are curious why I am on such old style narrow wasted skis and what model is under all the paint.

On not too deep fresh snow days will use the short mid width Scott The Ski's in powder, groomed, and in not yet well shaped up bumps. Then the painted S7's tanks are all about fresh snow after depths get deeper. I've always been one to be out storm skiing in full battle gear as long as winds are not too strong and the neon paint of course glows in the flat storm light. My bindings are set for a 203mm boot length in case someone here (especially some of you my size gals) ever wants to swap skis for a run or two.

I have sold a couple pairs so latest quiver is

2016 Atomic Redster XTI 164cm
2016 Stockli Laser AX 167cm
2016 Volkl Kenja 170cm
2017 Volkl 90Eight W 163cm
2017 Meier Wild Bill 170cm
2018 Nordica Santa Ana 169cm

The stocklis are so good I'll likely sell the Redsters this season. I also plan to acquire a pair of Volkl RTM 84s in March and a pro deal on the Renoun Z90. The 90Eights will likely go at some point too.
