My homemade enchiladas, nothing better.

I make them in batches of 18-20 and then vacuum pack and freeze them in 2's and 3's for later consumption. Vacuum packing makes them taste Iike they were cooked the same day even if they have been in the freezer for 6-8 months.
yah... if you don't put labels on them, with the date...

One component of lunch today:

I went to b&h dairy in the east village. Classic place and much cheaper than katz’s. A medium soup plus 2 thick slices of challah comes to 6 bucks.

B&H is good but it is not in same league as Katz's (or 2nd Avenue). Not even close

Lots of good eats here...........mouth watering eats......

For my daughters and I, ski food revolves around a big fresh sangwich, chips, and homemade Italian cookies from the deli (well not here in MN people don't know what a proper deli is but when we were in NYC/Hoboken). Not sandwich but a sandwich. Those from NYC and Chicago should recognize the pronunciation. Few things better than a big sub made on homemade bread, with thinly sliced quality meats and cheese accompanied with minimal toppings.

@Philpug .....every Sat and Sun morning we used to hit the Italian deli down the street at 6:35 before driving to CBK to make the 8:30 lift.

It rained here yesterday and I craved tomato soup with grilled cheese.
I know that grilled cheese has taken a gourmet twist with some delicious combinations,(which I love) but when I crave tomato soup and grilled cheese, I want white bread and craft singles.

The next time you're out here, ask Phil to make you some. He's amazeballs!

Of course you can not forget the Dr. Browns (Celray or Cream)
Or a "Manhattan Special" (not sure if they even still make it) or even the old stand by an Egg Cream.

Burgers, just Burgers!

Shake Shack burgers are definitely a guilty pleasure of us.

But, I usually stay more local. Plenty of good ones around.

Hmmm, I might have a new one. Pimento cheese grits. I honestly can't believe I never made them before....
