Yay for Movie pass as we pay $9.95 a month and can see a movie a week.

Movies we are looking forward to would be Mission Impossible, Deadpool 2, Sicario and my personal highlight is Halloween. I'm a huge fan of the original, loved H20 and basically Jamie Lee Curtis is in it so I'm there. Of course my guy and his sister (usual movie partners) aren't fans of horror/suspense movies and giggle during these movies which pisses me off. I'm leaving them at home for Halloween and going with my brother who shares my appreciation for a proper and well done suspense flick.

Summer gets pretty hot around here so we will tend to hit an afternoon show to stay out of the heat.

Our theater will also have "Flashback Theater" where they reshow old films, two recent ones were Back to the Future and Monty Python and hte Holy Grail, unfortunately, when we were out of town.

Fathom screens older movies too for us which is cool. Twas very nice to see Wall Street and Fast Time at Ridgemont High. I also saw Bonnie & Clylde and while the story was interesting black and white movies aren't really my thing but it was nice to see the movie. Now I want to go to Nevada and see the Bonnie & Clyde death car. Summers are hot here too so I think we'll move our movie night to Sunday afternoons so that we can escape the heat.

Saw a preview for the new biggie smalls movie that comes out in September. City of Lies looks magnificent. I liked the Tupac Biopic All Eyez on Me however, this one looks like it was way better put together and it's stars Forest Whitaker and Johnny Depp as well. September 7th is the release date and it's another happy event in one of my favorite months of the year.

Not a new one but in search of entertainment during a WC void watched The Death of Stalin last night.

Brilliant dark black comedy. A few historical shortcuts taken but fantastic ensemble acting from Buscemi, Tambor, Simon Russell- Beale, Jason Isaacs etc. If you like Veep or In The Loop/ Thick of It similar theme but very much darker stakes.

I loved Deadpool 2. Not quite as good as the first but for a sequel I was very pleased. Ryan Reynolds is da man. Some fabulous one liners in there.
We just saw Deadpool 2 (yes, we are behind) and I must say I thought it was actually better than the first one.

@fatbob I wanted to see the death of stalin, it sure wasn't at the movies for long however, the ratings were excellent. Looking forward to streaming this, glad to know it was every bit as good as expected.

We just saw Gotti and I thought it was good. The format they told the story in was a tad confusing if someone was unfamiliar with the story but other than that I liked it. It's hard to fit 40 years of story into a 90 minute movie but they did ok. Oscar movie no but I enjoyed it. Soundtrack was pretty good. The movie was a long time in the making with director and cast changes over the years and it was almost the movie that couldn't get made. I can't help but wonder though how good it could have been if Pacino and Pesce hadn't pulled out.

Operation Finale, the hunt for Adolf Eichmann in September. I love the cloak and dagger stuff.

I hardly ever go to the movies anymore. But I went to see Juliet, Naked.

A British Rom-com, a little light on the com. **Possible Spoiler below.

Maybe I'll go see the John McEnroe documentary next.

Despite their obvious attractiveness, for me the female lead never stopped looking pained and put upon, the male lead hinted at growing up but the movie ended before I really got a fully fledged view.

Older movies are best. Don't you think? Just finished watching The Thrill Killers (1964) and Bad Day At Black Rock (1955).

Just saw My Own Private Idaho from 1991. Always wanted to because Keanu was in it. Very good movie. Artsie, odd, strange, almost Stanley Kubrick style at times. River Phoenix did an amazing job as well. Flea from the Chilli Peppers was in there also. One of those movies that you aren't sure you like but then it stays with you and you keep thinking about it. I was going to sell it but it's stayed with me and I've put it on the shelf so that I can watch it again someday.

Anyone seen Happy time murders or Blackklansman?
The only movie I've seen (in the theater, that is) all summer is BlacKkKlansman. It was good. It's been playing at our local indie(ish) movie theater for quite a while now.
Even though it gets very hot here in the summer, I don't like going into a dark theater when it's light out, so I think I actually go to fewer movies in the summer.
