Hi guys,
I guess most skies have plastic or metal caps on the nose end that are fixed with screws and that are easy to remove before waxing.
Now, my son has junior skis with plastic caps that are not fixed with screws. (Fischer RC 4 Race ski).
Has anyone experience with these plastic caps?
How do you remove these before waxing?
Or do you just leave these on as these are glued to the ski and not meant to be removed before waxing?
Thanks a lot!!

You only need to wax the part of the bases that are touching the ground when you stand on the ski and maybe 6 inches front and behind that. Don't worry about way up where the tip guards are. Leave the tip guards on.

Yeah don’t remove the caps even if they have screws. Just makes the job longer for no real benefit. Blizzard/Nordica sl caps can be suprisingly tricky to get back on.
How do you know this? ;-)

Don't need to remove, but do wax every bit you can get to. Don't neglect to wax the shovel (tip).
Especially with low tipped race skis (SG and DH) when it is likely to hit some snow (loose snow, rut) and speed is of the essence. Powder skis, too, which contact the snow from the very tippity tip to the tail.
