Back in 2010 I started a thread on EpicSki praising the Nats and Steven Strasburg in particular. It's been a long strange trip since then, but the Nats are up 2-0 over the Astros in the World Series and Steven is pitching lights-out!

Here's a Nats fan even Pugskiers can love, the PopePug:

Rooting for the Nats.
So glad they pummeled Verlander and Cole. Fox and Joe Buck have been in love with Verlander for years.

My first girlfriend’s father took us to Expo games a couple of times. It was always an enjoyable day at the game. Saw Hank Arron hit either 703 or 704 during a game in 1973 at Parc Jarry.

I am becoming an Astros fan because of Altuve ( a modern day Joe Morgan) , Springer (always smiling and a clutch hitter) and Verlander (because @Tricia says I have to because of his Tigers history) but the Nationals have been beating them up and down like a rented mule. Talk about addition by subtraction and what letting Harper go did for that team. I am hoping the rumors are true that the Phillies are getting Girardi, that is the only chance they have against the Nationals and the Braves in the coming seasons.

As a current Phillies fan, I can only hope they get Girardi, who beat them managing the Yankees in 2009. I admire the Nats for getting this far, but am rooting for the Astros as that was my grandfather's team when they were NL. From both the NL Astros and Phillies perspective, I have no use for the Braves, Dodgers, Cards, etc. I'm not wild about the Giants, but I'll cut them some slack since they're my brother's team. I do like beating them so I can needle him...

No dog in the fight but have good friends pulling for both league champions. I lean National League but am not sad that Houston beat the Yankees.

Another one of the perks of living on the west coast, we can actully see how a game ends verses reading about it the next morning.

Well in 2004 the Yankees beat the Red Sox 19-8 to take Game 3 of the alcs and go up 3-0. Looked like it was over. Should have been. A bloop, stolen base, blah blah blah.

I don't bet on sports but when I saw the line for the series on Tuesday afternoon I considered driving to one of the new casinos. Unfortunately I didn't. The Nationals are fun to watch, especially with them beating up on the Astros.

Above was my 1000th post on PugSki. Hope I didn't jinx things by praising an Astro. Series now 2-2.

Has there ever been a series where the visiting team won every single game? Right now it appears the Nationals can strand even more people in 3 hours than the SS Minnow..

Wow. For Nats fans that was an all time great game last night. Drama, oneupsmanship, controversy, and the leaders stepped up - Strasburg and Rendon. How about Bregman & Soto bat carries?!? Davey gets thrown out.
We've known about Soto for two years. It was why we didn't cry too much when Bryce Harper left. Now the rest of the world knows. We are watching the birth of a superstar in Soto this post season.

Capitals two years ago, Mystics win WNBA title this year. If Nats do this homefield dis-advantage thing and win the WS will be a mind blower for DC sports fans.
Tonight's going to be a war. I like Max going to war for us, but will his arm hold up??

Kendrick just hit left foul poll off reliever Harris flipping the game 3-2 in the 7th just after their manager decided to take Greinke out after giving up a home run and a walk. Modern day baseball strategy of taking out starters backfires again. Like the era of Drysdale and Gibson when pitchers went the distance.
