G'day Pugs,
Hope all is well and everyone had a wonderful holiday period. All is well here in lovely Denver. This is just a quick update to let everyone know what the schedule is for the upcoming season of exotic adventures with The Adventure Project. We have a lot of new and exciting destinations and I will be blogging about all of them. I'll probably have individual TR's for each trip, but just wanted to outline it all here.

For the first time in 3 years, I'm not heading to Hokkaido. I do have another one of my guides taking out a few groups instead of me and he's been out there since December 25th. Conditions have been great in the Furano and Otaru areas, despite a slow start, with consistent snowfalls for the last few weeks. My guide and photographer, Grant Nakamura, took these photos (with permission from Grant and his guests) and it looks like they have had some good snow...... I'll be heading back there in 2020 so not to worry (our 2020 Hokkaido program is just about finalized, PM me if you would like the info as our early bird discount period is in effect).

Grant has another group starting on the 18th January. My season really starts on the 29th January (a late start from me, but I'm enjoying the extra family time) when I head off to Japan but this time to a new area, Tohoku, which encompasses most of the far northern tip of the main island of Honshu. I'm really looking forward to this trip, it looks it should be a lot of fun. We'll be based in 3 different areas as we work our way south. We start in Aomori with 3 nights there, then we head to the Aomori Springs resort for 3 more nights, then Shizukuishi for 5 nights and then we circle back to Aomori with our last night there. We'll head back to Tokyo on the 13th Feb via then Hyabusa (bullet train). We'll have vans and will be hitting up all the resorts in those areas.

Then I have a week back home in Denver before heading back to India and Gulmarg for about a month. I have 5 groups coming out (our biggest season in Gulmarg), starting on the 23rd February. I'll be back in Denver on the 21st of March. Then the really exciting news is that we are running a recce trip to Georgia to ski a couple of areas in the Upper Caucasus. This will be a 13 day trip, with 5 nights in the ski area of Gudauri and then 5 nights in Mestia, finished off with 2 nights in the old city of Tbilisi. This will be my first time skiing in Eastern Europe and I can't wait. Looks like that trip will be running from the 28th March to the 9th April (exact dates to be confirmed). Hopefully we will find some great sidecountry skiing and awesome culture. Either way, I'll be documenting it here.

I also have a couple of trips lined up this summer. The new one will be to New Zealand. That's in the planning stages right now, but hopefully that will be happening in late July after NZ school holidays are over and we are headed to the Canterbury region on the south island to explore the many wonderful clublfield ski areas. That should be a good trip.

Finally I'll finish off with our program down in Chile, back in Nevados de Chillan in August and September. I do want to do some exploring after that trip, so I'm looking at tagging on some time at Corralco, Pucon and Antillanca, in preparation for a deeper south Chilean program in 2020. That should also be a fun time.

That's a lot of exciting new places I am going to get to ski in 2019 It's been a ton of work to put all of this together (still a work in progress), but it will be worth it the end. I have such a thirst for adventure and a need to explore, I really love getting out to all these new places. I'll be posting here on Pugski, so I hope you can enjoy the adventure with me.

Salomon just put out a new episode of their Dream Trip series and it just so happens to be shot in Georgia! That's made me even more excited to be heading out there at the end of March. Can't wait! Georgia and the Caucasus mountains look sublime.....
