Borrowing a friends pair of Patrons and it seems that both tips are slightly concave. Probably about the last 10" on both tips. Is this how the ski was designed?

no, bases should be flat on bottom.

Did you mean should the tips and tails bend "up" a little? Yes, they should.

Ha, i know they rocker up.

All four tips had the same nonflat base.

Sounds like you got a pair that's quite a bit edge high. They certainly weren't designed that way, but we don't see too many issues with edge-high Nordica skis. I'd definitely get them flattened. I also think the Patron skis a bit better if you detune the contact point on the tips and tails just a touch.

They were used before my friend got them, so probably edge high. I'll use them and then flatten as a gift.
