Pugski.com stormed the show with an entourage of members, there were six of us in attendance including @RichC , @D'Ann , @Jasmine , @Peter and myself. We did run into a lurker who watched watches the site, Jeannie who we hope joins soon. We ran into another great skier and even better friend, Robbie Huntoon And his wife Karen). For those of you who have been to Gatherings here in Tahoe, Robbie was one of our guides at Squaw and he and Karen attended the demo at Alpine Meadows. Unfortunately, @Andy Mink & Ann, @JEFF and @Toni couldn’t join us…this year.
Now about the show. This is the second time we attended the show and it is just a great time. Reno’s best restaurants were in attendance along with some of the most prestigious wineries from the great state of Northern California (I hope my Better Off Dead reference didn't fall flat). The food offerings were delicious with selections from fantastic seafood, spicy middle eastern offerings to specialty meats. The wines selections also ran the full range from refreshing Chards to hearty Zinfandels gain from all over the region.
The Reno Wine & Ski Event has quickly become one of the “can’t miss” events for us. The raffles and proceeds collected went to Can Do Multiple Sclerosisa nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with Multiple Sclerosis. Linnea Quinn, one of the main organizers stopped and chatted with us and was very happy with the turnout. Linnea talked about some ideas on how pugski as a community can help in the years to come and we look forward to helping them with this great event.
