"Hot Lips", would not like your response.
I don't think Hawkeye would like my response either, but oddly I bet Radar would be OK with it. :P

FWIW, I do know the show, mostly by reference - so I was kidding above. But it ended when I was 6. So I have seen a few episodes on reruns as a kid, but it didn't leave much of an impression.

Et tu, Brute?

It was also the day 4 years ago that I was in the ED with a bowel obstruction.

Right at the beginning of ski area closures and severe COVID-19 restrictions. I was only a bit nervous in the hospital.

It's from the Shakespeare play "Julius Caesar". Caesar is warned to "Beware the ides of March".
That sounds correct, High School English was so long ago for me.

The world is changed in many ways by many things.

The safety pin was patented by Walter Hunt in the United States; he later sold his rights to the fastener for just $400.

5 years ago today the entire block next to my son's high school blew up. I was out back cutting grass 3 miles away and heard the BOOM. Then my phone lit up with the kid kinda freaking out. They were all safe but physically shaken. A couple people across the street died.

1633: Galileo is accused of heresy

Galileo was ordered to turn himself in to the Holy Office to begin trial for holding the belief that the Earth revolves around the sun, which was deemed heretical by the Catholic Church. Standard practice demanded that the accused be imprisoned and secluded during the trial.

On this day in 1995

My best fiend was working for the DOJ in OKC. He wasn't answering calls all morning. Turns out he had gone on a drive across the state tp pick up and drop off legal documents. Super relieved when he finally called me back that afternoon.

This was retaliation for the raid in Waco.. And there were high profile people praising the terrorists and calling them heroes and patriots. Sound familiar?? Those who ignore history...
