Tip protectors on 1980s Dynastar Prosoft

I want to take the tip protectors off the Prosoft and put them on a pair of circa 1980 Omesoft that I bought that do not have tip protectors. Same tip protector. What is the easiest way to get them off? Thanks.

I want to take the tip protectors off the Prosoft and put them on a pair of circa 1980 Omesoft that I bought that do not have tip protectors. Same tip protector. What is the easiest way to get them off? Thanks.

I lubricated the inside of the tip protectors with WD-40 and then used a flat-head screw driver to pop them off. Took about 15 minutes. Slipping them on the Omesoft was simple. 2 minutes.
