I spent two nights there last summer in July. It was on my bucket list and did not disappoint. The food is fantastic, the decor exactly as historical as the advertising suggests and, well, it was worth every penny. I stayed in a third floor room. They have bunk rooms too if you are on a budget. Here is a post from my visit.

This is my thread from my 2017 visit. I didn't stay at the lodge that year but made my mind up that I would if I could in the future.

I keep coming back to this thread as the Summer Fun Nationals at Hood approaches. I wish I could go, but finances and work dictate otherwise.

Here are some other pictures I took of the Lodge itself. My interest in the lodge derives from growing up in a 150 year old country inn in North Conway, NH along with the legacy of the CCC and, of course, my love for skiing.

Everywhere you look in the Lodge you'll find arts, craft and history that are priceless.

To be honest the snowpack was iffy for this early in the Summer ski season. Hit 2 rocks with minimal damage. That will make you hesitate to carve at your highest level.

I used to make my last run of the year from the summit of Hood, followed by a beer in the lodge. I'm a bit old for skiing around roped technical climbers now and don't ski the summit chutes.

Lift lines can get long when all the race camps are on:

The lodge is amazing. The skiing in summer, well it's just OK....

The lodge is magnificent, but the rooms have really thin walls. Reminded me of a Paul Simon song "Couple in the next room, bound to win a prize, they've been goin' at it all night long"
