...actually they still do, but this is a 25 year old bike I am cleaning up for sale. It sure is nice.

Nice frame.

Love the combo of XTR rear derailleur & Durace cranks.

Damn that's a small frame!
Around the same vintage as my '86 J P Weigle Road Crit bike. Peter is the nicest guy and a master craftsman.
Builds absolutely beautiful frames. See him for his Fall 'French Fender Day' festival most years about an hours drive from me.

It's my dad's, he's pushing 80 now and with arthritis and stuff, his riding days are over. He wants me to find it a new home. It's seat tube is about 52.5cm C-C and a 545mm TT. Dura-Ace 7400 w XTR RD.

I figured you must have one! Same cages and pedals too.

46 -30 is more my speed

I wish I could think of something a 53t chain ring was good for. I guess the 3% of cyclists that race occasionally need them.
Thankfully much better options abound these days (and always did if you looked carefully) but too many let ego get in the way.

53/39 with a 12-32 in back it's pretty close to the gearing on a 2019 bike.
I built a crapper out of my old race bike a few years ago..jumped on and just about broke my legs... 52x42 with an 11x23..I have no idea how I pedalled that back in the day.. I suppose one word: criterium.
