Shamora and I met up with @Mike Rogers and Liz around 9am. As there weren’t any more people around after we were all booted up, we took the Gondola up and got a nice tour of the area, first Larch, then up the Ptarmigan chair and over to the Top of the World, then the back side. After lunch at the Whitehorn Bistro (I’m leaving out some bits where one of us got separated and then we managed to call each other and figure out where we were) we skied down the front side to the Gondola again, retraced our morning run down Pika back to Larch (Liz and Mike took a tree run to meet us). A couple of runs later we headed back up Ptarmigan and skied back to the base.

Top of the Gondola, Ptarmigan chair in background. Shamora, Liz and Mike.

Btw that picture of Mike and Liz was a really sweet moment, they were side-by-side with Mike’s arm around Liz and they were skiing the runout to the lift like that for quite a while. Wish I’d zoomed the pic.

Oh, and forgot to mention - I'll be in black bibs, aqua green jacket, pink helmet. Brian is orange pants and blue jacket. Looking forward to meeting those of you I don't know!!!
Super excited, and lots of pics will be taken!

Jim's coming with albertanskifirl and her SO - green coat, black pants. Judging by the pics above, he'll match David and Shamora pretty nicely..

There’s a chance I will wear lemongrass pants instead of navy blue, but the jacket will be the same as in the pics above.

BTW Shamora and I are thinking we’ll hit the Hot Springs after skiing and before dinner.

Lots of snow near Calgary. Running late, will probably be there around 9:30ish. If you want to get going, we can meet later or at lunch. Message here or text 403-634-7637

Ok we slept in, leaving Canmore in a few. Hopefully be at the lodge at the top of the gondola at 9:30, but no guarantees.

So, here are some more pics from my non-ski day in Banff.

@1900 - thank goodness we don't have to dress like this now! Those women were badass. The men, too, hiking/climbing in what looks like their loafers, but at least they didn't have to wear skirts.

These were labeled as children’s ski boots from 1960, metal and fiber. It sure looked like plastic to me, and much more modern looking than I would have guessed, but I didn't start skiing until the early 1990's anyway, so what do I know?

Just a cute little guy from the Japanese exhibit. Catherine Whyte's grandfather had an extensive collection of Japanese art and this exhibit was items from that.

The next two pics are from the netsuke part of the exhibit. I put my ring in for a size comparison.

And finally, Banff Street. Visibility wasn't that great, as you saw from the above skiing pictures.
