I bought an old Soma 29er chromoly that was set up like that. I mainly wanted the frame and fork (White Bros CF) and converted it to disc (frame already had capability). Best riding hardtail bike I've ever been on. Bought it just to tool around with my family because I can't ride my road bike slowly enough for that. But it is really fun to fling around!

I set up my Turner like that because I'm missing the little modular aluminum piece for post mount, and using a Chinese adapter is just repellent.

Using my Kona Caldera single speed for tool-around duty. No front brakes so doesn't qualify as mullet :D Top knot?

EDIT: If anyone does have the little Turner thingy...

Soma makes (made?) GREAT hardtails!

Getting ready for a move, and discarded one a week ago. Darn it!

Try this forum. Still a surprisingly active, small, helpful bunch:
