This funny video from the Placer County sheriff site shows a huge 400 pound or so black bear that apparently eats very well about Kings Beach at Tahoe, trying to get out of a dumpster. Near the beginning the coolest part is when he suddenly pokes his huge head out. (Be sure to slide the sound control up as it seems to be minimum by default.)

As a decades long Sierra wilderness backpacker I've experienced many black bears that can be quite scary if solo miles from anyone else, on a moonless night in a forest when every sound of breaking twigs means a monster may be prowling.
