Stumbled upon "tucking feet back" technique while skiing some bumpy runs and then remembered this video:
I had always been pretty good about absorbing moguls but always tucked feet up and forward, as in a high jump. It kind of worked, but man it is hard work.
Pulling feet back makes a massive difference, in that it keeps the tips down, loads them by moving center of gravity forward and suddenly the pole plants become essential rather than superfluous. Made a mogul run much faster, actually enjoyable and much less strenuous.
I wonder if this also will work on short turns on steep and hard stuff. Going to try it next time between storms
