not much tree skiing though....

There was tree skiing, but not the tight glades of today more like the "sous bois" in Canada. Skiing 210's with run-away straps and the bindings of that era made tree skiing spicy. A buddy got an eye removed from a ski "boomeranging" around on a run away strap in fall.

My first visit to Stowe was in the mid 90s. We saw tracks in the woods that we asked patrol about. They indicated that “some people ski the woods... we wish they didn’t though”.

Seems that policy has changed in the last 20 years... :rolleyes::D

I ran into Jim Cardenali who does the race camps on the trail last year or one before in the spring. Somehow the Color it White.. film came up. He said he skied in it. He was teaching at Stowe at the time.
