[Olympic Valley, Calif.] March 16, 2018 –
Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows has received 12 feet of snow so far this month, making it the 3rd biggest March in the last 20 years. March 1 ushered in a seven-foot storm and the current storm has dumped 5 feet on the resort so far as it continues to pile up, with more snow in the forecast for next week. With Miracle March in full swing, the resort is gearing up for two and a half more months of skiing and riding: Closing Day has been scheduled for May 28, Memorial Day, weather and conditions permitting. The High Camp Hot Tub, a spring skiing tradition, will open on March 31, weather and conditions permitting.

Operations at both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are limited today due to heavy snowfall and avalanche hazard, and delays are expected for Saturday, March 17 as an additional 7-19 inches of snow is expected on the upper mountain by Saturday morning. Guests visiting this weekend are encouraged to check out the Weekend Preview blog, which includes key information including Deep Snow Safety Tips and local weather and road conditions. Guests can also view real-time conditions and lift status via the Squaw Alpine mobile app.

I skied Thursday at Squaw and had a ton of fun in some surprise stashes.
Can't wait to get back up there again, now that there is more base and more new snow on the way.
