Yeah, forecasters around here (PNW) are looking at snow starting to fall, for real this time, right around Tuesday evening/Wedneday. Probably won’t be any skiing around here for Thanksgiving, but maybe the week after.

Yup. Looks bleak on Mt. Hood in particular, until the day before Thanksgiving at the earliest:

Bought new ski boots. Ruined it for everybody. Sorry!

Drove up to the mountain yesterday (Big Sky) to do my employee onboarding and was pleasantly surprised with the coverage. Ski school supervisors who havre been up there for awhile said the snow which started in early October just never melted. So Lone Peak is looking darn good for early season - almost as good as last season. They are predicting 4-8” tomorrow, then a dry spell, then more around Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

And here is my final seasonal outlook for North America:
https://longrangesnowcenter.blogspot.com/2018/11/north-american-winter-outlook-2018-19.html

Extract:
  • I forecast California to have an above average snowfall season.
  • I forecast Colorado/Utah/NM/AZ to have an average, maybe even slightly above average snowfall season
  • I forecast the PNW and BC to have a below average snowfall season.
  • I forecast the Eastern US (New England and Mid Atlantic) to have a moderately-strongly above average snowfall season, particularly in December and February
