Any recommendations?
Background: Maybe it's a bad idea, but we have a car that doesn't get used much, and ends up being more of a garage queen, and I wouldn't mind taking it out on a short ski weekend trip here or there. It has AWD, snow tires and even the ability to lift the air suspension a couple inches for deeper snow.
Downside is it is a soft top convertible- it is insulated so warmth isn't the issue. The issue is how to bring skis. The trunk pass through doesn't exist because of some factory upgrade stereo amplifier in the way.
Does anyone have a suggestion or have experience with one of the below ideas I saw online ? The suction one might work since the rear window is glass, but I don't know how well those suction devices work at speed on a highway with the forces wind and skis would exert. The other trunk one bolts on and I cringe about the possible paint damage, however it might be the a more secure possibility.
