This one was a fun build. I have had two G&S Warptail 2's, pne plywood with wheel wells, and one plywood without week wells. I had been shopping for the older Stacy Peralta Warptail that was solid oak with a wedge kick but only saw really $$$spendy$$$ ones available. Then I saw this one.. It was listed as G&S unknown model with hand painted Pink Floyd art on top. It was pretty cheap so I assumed that since there was no side view photo for the listing that it was cheap because the wedge was gone.. seen several folks trying to sell old ones like that. I liked the art on it so I snagged it to hang on to and set up until a better Peralta with the wedge kick turned up for under $200.

When it arrived I was elated to see it DID still have the kick tail wedge in tact. The paint on it was amazingly well done. I was thinking of stripping it down and putting the Gordon and Smith traditional graphics back but decided on keeping the Floyd graphics.. Gripped it clear instead.. ACS 500s and Sims Pure Juice

Here's the Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here album art it was inspired by.. Album and deck are pretty much the same age, period correct for sure..

Been on a bit of a reissue binge lately. All these are reissues.

Dave and mods, feel free to delete all the posts where the video links are no longer active. That's stuff that has changed and no longer current so I removed the photos from the album.

I have been catching up on some old Rodney Mullin videos and also watched The Bones Brigade recently. Rodney was amazing.

Major issues with the cloud I keep these photos on. They dropped over half my photos. Contacted them and the photos were restored, but I guess some of the old links and redirects do not.
Here's a set of 80s pigs, couple scored within the past year..

@crgildart I decided that I want a longboard. Something basic. Cruising around the neighborhood, some green space with paved sidewalks, maybe with a dog on a leash. But mostly neighborhood. Combination of old and newer paved sidewalks and asphalt of various ages and conditions. Something cushy that rolls nice. Probably not a pintail due to some curbs and broken pavement. 120-150 all in is preferred, but let’s say a 225 squeal point. Any chance you can point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Meh, a bit out of my wheelhouse but something 78a wheels on some 50* Gullwing trucks with some tail for kicking around when you run out of room to turn with all 4 on the ground.

I don't think this deck's still sold but even a Sector 9 or Land Yactz would work fine.

Thank you. I’ll start looking around. I’ve never ridden one so have a potentially silly question - is a longboard going to be much different than my PP re-issue pig board that measures 9.5x31.25 in with bones wheels? Maybe I just want a new board ...

Longer wheelbase is more stable at higher speeds. Are the Bones 85a or harder? 97s are too rough for street crusing and pushing around but great for park riding.

It’s been a little while since I bought them but I want to say they are 90+. Maybe 97a at 65mm? They are the ones they make with Powell Peralta lettering and a couple skeletons.

If it were me, I'd leave that set up for skatepark riding and smooth, good pavement. Get something different to use as a cruiser.

Caveat: I know nothing about longboards, but....

Last summer I bought an Arbor drop cruiser from Evo & it’s been really fun. It’s the first board I’ve ever owned. I called Evo and asked them which would be the most stable out of a few I was looking at (that were majorly on sale) and I got a recommendation. I’m not looking to do anything crazy, just have some fun carving turns down gentle hills and work on my sideways balance/movements to try to get better at surfing & snowboarding too. The board is smooth, easy to learn on and rolls over most rocks with fairly big softish wheels, 70mm & 78a I think. 38” board w/ ~30 in wheelbase.

I don’t know if this is your style or in your wheelhouse, but FWIW.

I did a bit of skateboarding back in the mid-60s. But I recently was sent a screen grab photo from even earlier times. I have two older brothers and they did a lot of backyard engineering with toys and such and they used me as a test subject/victim with some of their experiments.
This is me approx. age 5 testing a franken-board in 1958 or 59. The photo was taken at a US Navy Base in Morocco where our dad was stationed at the time.
